JETRO has selected four Japanese healthtech startups for Phase 2 of the J-StarX AI Medical Course, an acceleration program conducted in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate, a US accelerator within one of the world’s leading medical institutions. The initiative supports AI-enabled digital health companies seeking entry into the U.S. market by utilizing large-scale clinical data and strengthening product validation.

Four companies advanced to Phase 2 after completing a 10-week foundational Phase 1 program in late 2025, which focused on U.S. healthcare market strategy, regulatory insight, and on-site engagement at the accelerator’s Minnesota campus.

The selected startups are Tenku, Neocure, Precision Imaging, and YOBO Health. Their technologies range from AI-powered cancer genomics support and predictive screening for retinopathy of prematurity to surgical navigation systems for joint replacement and heart failure readmission risk prediction.

During the 30-week Phase 2 program, the companies will gain access to Mayo Clinic Platform’s extensive anonymized patient data network. This access enables them to validate and refine AI models, generate clinical evidence, and further strengthen their products for U.S. expansion.
