Japanese companies' overseas bases have reached 75,531, with 3,711 additional bases established (5.2% growth) year-over-year. Over the past five years, approximately 18% growth (11,752 bases) demonstrates that overseas expansion has become a long-term trend for Japanese enterprises. Breakdown shows local subsidiaries at 36,499 bases (1.9% increase), Japanese companies' direct operations at 5,347 bases (4.4% increase), and unclassified operations at 33,685 bases (9.1% increase). Asia dominates with 52,860 bases, representing about 70% of all bases, recording 6.4% year-over-year growth. North America accounts for 9,417 bases (12.5%) and Western Europe 5,833 bases (7.7%), both shifting toward strengthening existing operations rather than new establishment. Emerging regions show notable growth: Africa increased approximately 7.7% (57 bases added) and Central America 7.4% (96 bases added), warranting attention alongside the three major regions of Asia, North America, and Western Europe accounting for 97% of total bases.
