#Startup Support, #Entrepreneurship

Nagoya City announced its budget proposal for fiscal year 2025, with a total general account of 1.6171 trillion yen. This is a 9% increase on the initial budget for fiscal year 2024, and the largest budget yet for the ninth consecutive year. The city is focusing on supporting startups and promoting the expansion of overseas companies, and has allocated 850 million yen for related expenses—a 10% increase—and 140 million yen for attracting foreign entrepreneurs and supporting overseas expansion.

In addition, 550 million yen has been allocated to support the management of small and medium-sized enterprises, an increase of 40%. This includes measures to prevent customer harassment, child-rearing and welfare, urban development in the Nagoya Station area, measures for the Asian Games, and tourism promotion measures. The city is expecting a 6% increase in tax revenue to 667.4 billion yen.
