Prime Minister Takaichi met with executives from startup companies at the Prime Minister's Office and expressed her commitment to expanding support. The Prime Minister stated, "We will first strengthen the foundation of scientific and technological research. We aim to secure international standing," clarifying plans to strengthen support including promoting investment in emerging companies. The government has set a policy to support emerging companies in 17 fields including AI and defense. Companies engaged in AI research and marine drone development participated in the talks. Participants emphasized the importance of financial support, with some expressing the view that "startups cannot survive without government support."
