Tottori University announced that it will hold an event, named Startup Fest, in collaboration with local companies to encourage student entrepreneurship from October 12th to November 1st at its campuses in Tottori and Yonago, Tottori Prefecture. The event is organized by the newly established Regional Future Co-creation Center (nicknamed “Tottori Unique”), which opened in April.

During Startup Fest, young entrepreneurs active in Tottori will be invited to hold discussions with students, and student business plans will be presented.

The center plans to introduce the university's initiative to establish a lunar proving field at the Tottori Sand Dunes. At the Yonago City campus, home to the medical school, medical startups will be featured.

University President Tasuku Harada said, “eighty percent of our students are from outside the prefecture. We want them to engage with the region and learn about Tottori by challenging themselves to start businesses.”
