As a drug discovery venture originating from Kyoto University, we are developing RN-501, a novel boron-containing drug for boron-neutron capture therapy (BNCT), a next-generation cancer radiation therapy targeting intractable cancers. Through proprietary boron carbide nanoparticle technology and polyglycerol modification, RN-501 achieves high tumor selectivity and accumulation, along with potent cancer-killing and immune-activating effects with a single intravenous administration, overcoming the limitations of existing drugs. As Japan's first and the world's first nano-BNCT drug, we aim for early societal implementation.

Cells in living organisms function in an orderly manner by cooperating with surrounding cells while interacting with extracellular proteins. However, in cell culture systems, extracellular proteins are largely absent, making it difficult for cells to function properly and often causing them to exhibit physiological activities that differ from those observed in vivo. Our company conducts research on extracellular matrix proteins located outside the cell, and by applying the findings from this research to cell culture technologies, we aim to contribute to the advancement of regenerative medicine and the realization of alternatives to animal experimentation.
