Chemical company Asahi Kasei has achieved a total of 485 million yen in cost reduction by expanding digital adaptation solutions to 40 systems over three years. At an event on October 13, 2026, the company shared its AI and data-driven digital transformation approach and success factors. Asahi Kasei renewed its core systems in April 2023, reducing add-ons from 2,400 to 1,100 to eliminate technical debt. The company now employs AI technologies such as RAG and has shortened material development cycles from the traditional 10 years to 1 year. A key characteristic is its systematic approach to DX based on data, from selecting implementation targets to verifying effects. The initiatives span materials, housing, and healthcare divisions, demonstrating cross-divisional digital capability deployment.
