GoldenHarvest Adopts Yokohama "TECH-PoC": Converting Food Waste to Protein Feed Using Black Soldier Fly

GoldenHarvest, an R&D biotech venture, was selected for Yokohama City's "TECH-PoC" support program on August 27, 2026. The project converts food waste from Yokohama factories into protein feed using Black Soldier Fly (BSF), measuring conversion efficiency and feed protein quality. The initiative addresses environmental sustainability and food security by upcycling food waste into livestock feed, animal oils, and organic fertilizer.

The demonstration runs through February 2027 with up to ¥2 million in support from Yokohama City, including field coordination and partnership matching. GoldenHarvest collaborates with Tokyo University's Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences on BSF technology development for food security and circular economy solutions.
