JETRO, in collaboration with Columbia Technology Ventures (CTV), hosted a Japan–U.S. climate tech collaboration event on January 28 in New York City. The event aimed to create concrete partnership opportunities between Japanese companies and U.S. climate tech startups.

The program featured pitch presentations from 10 U.S. startups supported by CTV’s ClimateTech Expertise Network, as well as reverse pitches from 4 Japanese companies that shared their technologies, business focus areas, and needs related to decarbonization and energy transition. Around 50 participants attended the event, highlighting strong interest in bilateral collaboration.

Startup pitches showcased a diverse range of climate tech solutions, including carbon capture, offshore wind and other renewable energy technologies, circular economy initiatives, building material reuse, and bio-related innovations.
