LEP is a startup from Osaka University developing glowing plants. Leveraging its proprietary bioluminescent protein technology, LEP has successfully created plants that emit light without using electricity, with the capability to produce multi-color luminescence across a wide range of plant species. LEP aims to combine ornamental value with reduced environmental impact cutting CO₂ emissions.

This venture company originated from the Electrochemistry Laboratory of Kansai University and provides innovative lithium-ion batteries and technologies with the vision of "making the world sustainable with storage battery technology". Ionic liquid lithium-ion batteries, which use non-flammable ionic liquids as electrolytes, are also used in space applications as highly reliable storage batteries that do not pose a risk of ignition. We will develop and provide water-based cathode manufacturing technology that can reduce costs and environmental impact at the same time to existing lithium-ion battery production lines.

Using catalysts, this startup decomposes mixed, multilayer, and contaminated waste plastics and organic waste at 200–300°C, converting them into monomers, hydrogen, alcohols, and other substances. It achieves resource circulation and waste reduction.
