In October 2023 Station Ai will open in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture. This new facility aims to bring together 1,000 startups from Japan and abroad to foster regional development and offer an alternative to the concentration of startups in Tokyo.
Station Ai will comprise a seven-story building with shared offices, co-working space, and a tech lab. The prefectural government supports half of the usage fees, reducing the financial burden on startups, and has already received interest from about 200 companies.
Station Ai is part of Aichi Prefecture's 2018 strategy to promote collaboration between manufacturing and startups to create new business models that leverage new technologies such as deep tech — particularly in the automotive industry.
